“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of
this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the
face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all
these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Global Government?! Really?

     I recently wrote a commentary on the future reality of a one world government from a Biblical perspective. See Lambs Law, Why Does It Seem Everyone Is Talking About Global Governance?, http://lambslaw.blogspot.com/2010/09/why-does-it-seem-everyone-is-talking.html. I started my comment with the disclaimer that I fully recognize that this whole notion seems like some crazy claim by the conspiracy theory nuts.

     Well, read my article and you will see that it’s really not the stuff of delusionists, it is in fact grounded in Biblical truth. Nevertheless, it’s still very hard to fully comprehend the reality of such a thing. Let me draw your attention to something though that I think may help settle your mind that this is not crazy talk, but actually at least one superpower’s goal.

     Just take a look at the photos above. The image on the left of each pair is a painting of the artist Pieter Brueghel’s rendition of the Biblical Tower of Babel. The image on the upper right side is the European Union Parliament building, which was built to resemble the unfinished construction of the Tower of Babel. The lower right image is a promotional poster marketing the European Union’s mission as finishing the work that was begun at the Tower of Babel – the unification of all nations. More on this comparison can be seen here: http://biblelight.net/Tower-of-Babel.htm.

     For those of you who don’t know the significance of the Tower of Babel, you can read about it in Chapter 11 of Genesis. God wanted the descendants of Noah to fulfill Adam’s duty to spread throughout the entire world and subdue it, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.” Genesis 9:1b (NKJV); compare Genesis 1:28. Under the first world leader, Nimrod, mankind rebelled against God at the Tower of Babel by building an anti-God idolatrous kingdom and refused to fulfill their duty. See Genesis 11:1—9; see also Genesis 10:8—10. God judged that rebellion by changing the languages, thus forcing people to spread throughout the earth as they congregated into groups who shared the same languages.

     It should be clear from these images that the promoted theme of the European Union is an effort to finish what was begun at the first Tower of Babel. The significance of this is not only the connection to that infamous first one world government, but also to the purpose behind it – rebellion against God. I believe this push for world government is rebellion for many reasons, but the clearest can be seen in the way these powers are consumed with regulating and “saving” the environment. We should all be good stewards of God’s gift to us, but we can never elevate the creation over the Creator. The Apostle Paul wrote of this saying, “Professing to be wise, they became fools ... who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” Romans 1:22, 25 (NKJV).

     Read the articles that follow, and you will see that the European Union and the United States appear very interested in reforming the one world government begun at Babel. The last of the three sites describes the prophetic move towards a one world religion as well.

     Please take these things seriously. Though most people used to simply dismiss these thoughts as crazy talk, you can see that both the United States of America and the European Union are very involved at pushing the world’s governing bodies closer together. The Bible has been telling mankind of this day for thousands of years. That evidence should cause you to seek the God who wrote history before it happened. His name is Jesus, God the Son, the second member of a triune God. He died on a cross 2,000 years ago, taking upon Himself God the Father’s wrath, so that all who would repent from their rebellion against God and turn to Him through faith, would escape the wrath they deserve. If you hear His voice, do as Jesus commanded, “Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15b (NKJV).

Shai Linne Proclaiming the Gospel

     I just cannot think of a better way to say it:

     The writer of Hebrews, echoing the words of King David, implored, “Today, if you will hear His voice, [d]o not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” Hebrews 3:15, 4:7b (NKJV) (see also Psalm 95:7—8). If you hear His voice, do as Jesus commanded, “Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15b (NKJV).

Who Really Wants Peace?

Photo Found At:  http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/09/14/israeli-palestinian-leaders-prepare-meet-clinton-says-time-ripe-peace/

     I find it very interesting that our world is so intent on forcing peace upon people who really want nothing to do with it. Granted, the biggest antagonist, Iran, is not part of nor will be bound by any peace negotiation. However, even Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority’s leader, who is directly involved with the peace negotiations, clearly doesn’t really want peace.

     They want to have their way, and that’s it! No true compromise is being sought after. This false sense of seeking peace is reminiscent of the way the false prophets in the days of Jeremiah were deceiving the people immediately before the Babylonians obliterated Judah:

     They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly,
Saying, “Peace, peace!”
When there is no peace.
Jeremiah 6:14 (NKJV).

     Those false prophets made people feel better by saying peace was coming, but that was deception. God told the people through Jeremiah that because they ignored the prophets and refused to repent, God would punish them through the Babylonians.

     Very interestingly, Jeremiah spoke of another time in the future when Israel would go through the worst time of trouble the world has ever seen, but that it would be for their good, to bring them to faith in the Messiah:

     We have heard a voice of trembling,
Of fear, and not of peace.
     Alas! For that day is great,
So that none is like it;
And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble,
But he shall be saved out of it.
     But they shall serve the LORD their God,
And David their king,
Whom I will raise up for them.

Jeremiah 30:5b, 7, 9 (NKJV).

     The Prophet Zechariah also spoke of this time, describing it as a time when the world’s focus will be on Jerusalem with drunken-like madness:

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
Zechariah 12:2, 3 (NKJV).

     I believe we are entering that time, which both Jeremiah and Zechariah spoke of. I believe it because the Bible says multiple times that the regathering of Israel and the time of Jacob’s trouble would occur in the latter days, “In the latter days you will consider it.” Jeremiah 30:24b (NKJV).

     Read the articles that follow and consider whether you believe peace is possible:

     All of these things should cause you to recognize that the Bible is indeed real. Israel’s existence after 2,000 years of dispersion should be enough on its own, since the Bible repeatedly said they would be scattered and regathered in the latter days. If we are approaching the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, then Jesus Christ is soon to return, and He is the only One who will bring true peace.

     Moreover, if you have never repented of your sin and put your faith in Christ alone for salvation, do it today, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2b (NKJV). There is no time to delay. If you hear His voice, do as Jesus commanded, “Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15b (NKJV).

What is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, All About?

     Its about Jesus!  Check out this video from the Messianic Jewish Ministry Maoz Israel:

     If you have not repented from sin and put your trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, please understand that Jesus said you will not have your sins atoned for when you die, “for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24b (NKJV). If you hear His voice, do as Jesus commanded, “Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15b (NKJV).

Are We Living In Biblical Times? No Doubt About It!

     Did you know that you could read about things happening today that were written in the Bible thousands of years ago? It seems like newspapers are practically plagiarizing Scripture.

     Don’t take my word for it, read the Old Testament Prophets for yourself. God warned that there would be a time when the world’s focus is on Israel:
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.  And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
Zechariah 12:2, 3 (NKJV).  Now that the Jews have been back in their land after being banished for nearly 2,000 years, we are seeing these Scriptures come into fulfillment.

     Consider the Scriptures that follow, and know that the conflict described in Psalm 83 has been raging with these precise enemies ever since Israel came back into existence, nearly 3,000 years after this prophecy was written. Also, the alliance predicted in Ezekiel 38 has never before existed. Do a simple Internet search of these countries and you will see that they are very much aligned with each other today.

     Prophecy involving Arabs (Ishmaelites & Hagrites), Jordan (Edom, Moab & Ammon), Lebanon (Gebal & Tyre), Syria (Assyria), Gaza (Philistia) and the rest of the Palestinians as well as all those who hate Israel (Amalek):

(Image From: http:/prophecydepot.blogspot.com/2010/05/twin-prophecies-of-israeli-palestinian.html)

Do not keep silent, O God!
     Do not hold Your peace,
     And do not be still, O God!
For behold, Your enemies make a tumult;
     And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
They have taken crafty counsel against Your people,
     And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,
     That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

For they have consulted together with one consent;
     They form a confederacy against You:
The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
     Moab and the Hagrites;
Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
     Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Assyria also has joined with them;
     They have helped the children of Lot. Selah
Psalm 83:1—8 (NKJV) (underlined emphasis added).

     Prophesy of an invasion of a reassembled and restored Israel led by the leader of Russia (Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech & Tubal), and followed by Iran (Persia), Sudan (Cush), Libya (Put) and Turkey (Gomer & Beth-togarmah):

(Image From: http:/isralestine-blog.blogspot.com/2010/05/trouble-on-seas-gogs-2-pronged-evil.html)

     The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.

     “‘Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.’”
Ezekiel 38:1—9 (NIV) (underlined emphasis added).

     You may have noticed that Syria, a primary ally of this horde of nations described by Ezekiel, is oddly missing. Interestingly, Isaiah made a prediction concerning Damascus, the capital city of Syria that claims to be the oldest continually inhabited city on earth, which has not yet come into fulfillment:
     Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,
And it will be a ruinous heap.
Isaiah 17:1b (NKJV).

     Now watch the video below, which is produced by a Messianic Jewish ministry in Tel Aviv. Keep in mind that as we go about our daily lives, largely unaware of the on goings of the Middle East, Jews in Israel live with a constant threat of war. By the grace of God alone we have been spared this. But know very well that we have the same enemies as Israel does.

     These things are not meant to scare us. They are given to us so that we will know God is real and in control. How else could you explain the detailed prophetic scenarios written so long ago? I have only given you a few small snippets of the prophecies concerning the “latter days.” Read them yourself, and decide for yourself whether the Prophets were writing about today.

     Know this too, if these prophecies are happening, the return of Jesus Christ is very, very soon! Will it be within the next 100 years? I don’t know, but it could be within the hour. About the timing of His return, Jesus said of other “latter days” events, “when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!” Matthew 24:33b (NKJV). If you hear His voice, do as Jesus commanded, “Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15b (NKJV).
